Touchscreen Monitor SAW

Would you share any experience with Surface Acoustic Wave technologies LCD monitors ?

Is some of you using Capacitive or Resistive Monitors ?

Can you tell more about which would be a better choice ?

If you will be wearing gloves when you work you will want resistive.

Many thanks for sharing the links. Definitively Resitive type monitors is the best way to go.

Im trying to get a open frame LCD no larger than 19 inches , the idea is build a enclosure panel.

I was considering using Elo touch , which I test before and I can say they are very Reliable,
but as they are industrial grade they don't come cheap.

So I was thinking on trying alternatives , found this Surface Acoustic Wave technologies LCD maybe worth to try.
That's why I willing to know if other users have experiences with SAW , It is the only technology I have not tried.

Actually, I believe resistive is the way to go rather than the consumer grade touch screens.

I have two Acer 20" (and sold 2 others), two of the ASUS 15.6" and the ViewSonic 22" resistive mentioned in the thread above.

Each of the Acer's has lost the touch function as it got "squirrely" forcing me to unplug the USB from it an use the mouse.

The ASUS work well, but there is an issue noted on this forum that just a bit of a finger roll will cause an axis to "lock on" during jog arrow movement. This is due to the many variations of "multi touch" built into the consumer grade screens.

The winner, hands down is the resistive ViewSonic. Most likely due to the fact that it is a single touch and a bit more commercial than the others. That said, I am with Marty. Buy a cheap monitor and add a MPG pendant. 90%+ of my operator functions are available from the pendant.
