V5.1 Lathe distance to go isn't working <misunderstanding>

Post by PhilipTrueman »

When running a program the X display of distance to go is showing zero.

I was not able to replicate the issue with your report.

Usually, the X moves in the G-code I tested with was very short and the distance to go was shown briefly since the X move was very short and quickly executed.

Phil,

Did you have this issue on the runtime graphics (RTG) display; or on the G-code display; or both?

The RTG screen and the g code screen are both showing zero when it has to remove 6mm off the diameter.
When it is facing the end of the part off the distance to go on X and Z work ok. But when turning the diameter the X axis just reads zero on distance to go. sometimes 0.0002
I can show you a photo if you like.

Distance to go shows that amount of movement remaining in the current G-code line. It does not show the amount of material to be removed from the part.
Cheers,

Tom

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

AH! thank you for explaining that. It's a constant learning curve.
