hi guys,
my lathe is running now and i did my first thread: https://youtube.com/shorts/b3qjYhNoy30?feature=share
for my Flashlights i want to produce on the lathe i need special threads. in this case M21,5 x 1mm. I learned how to Modify an existing M22 Thread fitting to my requests. But can i save them and give them a name ?
next question: how to make the contour ? i use universal thread inserts, not limited to a single pitch. for that reason i want to cut the contour first, then cut the thread and after that make the contour with a little offset again to deburr the start and end of the thread.
i now how to make that in Intercon step by step. but is there a smarter solution ?
thanks
Michael

Re: best Threading strategy
If you want to add more threads, edit treadsdb.xml
Some the threads in there are from me
You can run the profile finish pass a second time after threading.

Re: best Threading strategy
jep in NP++, but should go also with copy and insert in Intercon {never tried it)
Simply because I am often faster with plain g-code.

Re: best Threading strategy
I forgot that you also can save single new threads.
Load a similar one, and edit the parameters and save.

Re: best Threading strategy
Hi Uwe, i know that function. But i cannot rename it correctly.
I will have a lot of special threads, so would be great if the XML worms. I will try the next days.

Re: best Threading strategy
You can type in any Name before saving.
But for adding lots of threads xml editing is way faster with excel
