Can I get hollow shaft encoders in .375 (F18?)

Post by countryguy »

Hi gang, I am home from the business trip. I have an open shaft now on the back end. 1/4" portion that is .375 high. Then I have .375 all the way down the the case where I could easily mount an encoder if you stock these in 3/8 hollow shaft? I only see the F18 w/ this option.
Learned a bunch on this!

Plan would be to mount the new encoder and then wire into the existing Molex connector to get it down into the electrical cab. Just reuse their wiring delivery. Sound good?

The encoders come with the hardware to mount them to the shaft.

We have 3/8" encoders in hollow shaft. Actually all of our encoders are hollow shaft. If your previous encoder was not differential quadrature your cable will not be compatible with this encoder. The below thread has a lot of good information on encoders and the wiring/pin-out.

I'll map out the Quad Diff (which my 500l was) and insure that everything's wired right. No issues there. I'm simply mapping your encoder's wired outputs to my old encoders Molex connector pins (same count) . then I thread on the heavy duty harness and just use the existing lines to carry the signals

Sorry this seems like retentive stuff- I'm new and just don't need a mistake and returns. Plus I'm learning a TON on this stuff. For instance: Other servos are available. But - They only have 100Khz freq response. the Dynapar's are 250Khz in line driver (+5Vd) mode. That's really good.

Times so precious anymore on this planet :-) Thanks Liviu!
