How to verify amp rating of my SEM servo motors?

Post by bloomingtonmike »

One thing I have not been sure on is the amp rating of my servo motors. I have been just running it with what was default from teh setup (switches and software). Here is the info on the servo motors:

Sem X Type MT 30R4-42 serial NoE 8389, Constant Stall torque 29lbs in tenv, Max RPM 3200 volts 135, pulse amps 52, tacho 7 volts/1000 RPM, insul F, Perm Magnet DC Servo motor F87-70888, serial number 18920

I have not seen any info that say 9amps, 12amps, 15amps like the tuning documentation says. I also have not seen a "T" number anywhere.

Any advice?

http://www.sem.co.uk/fileadmin/data/fil ... Manual.pdf

All the info is in there... full tech specs.
MT-30 is the 't' number

Yours are rated at about 42 amps at peak torque.

The ALLIN1DC is typically set to 12 amps when it ships out, unless other servo info is provided. The setting is for the continuous stall current as opposed to the peak. Your servos appears to be in the 9 amp range.
