electronic gearing and gear hobbing

Is it possible to drive a 4th axis as a slave to the spindle to hob a gear using Centroid software?

I work for the Gleason works as a service engineer. I am also interested if the control will function this way.

I see this is a really old thread, but I also have a need to cut some gears. Has there been any development on hobbing?
