Wired vs wireless

Post by converterking »

I have always used the wired pendant and mpg. How does the touch screen pendant and wireless mpg compare?

I was squeamish before I bought the wireless MPG, as I remember the days when wireless mice for computers would be skippy, making them unusable. I am happy to say the wireless MPG seems to be instantaneous and without skips. It makes set up much easier for me, as I have no touch pads or other automation. I would recommend it.

The wireless pendant works fine...but it is wireless and does use the USB port.
If it works when connected it works.
If you have a control like OAK or All in One DC you can buy the header connector and the wired MPG and use it.
Choice is up to you.

Wireless is nice for large format machines where the tethered MPG is inconvenient.

I have the wired pendant and mpg for each machine. It looks like the wireless mpg can do a lot more than the wired one. I also wonder how the touch screen monitor compares to the wired jog pendant. A lot of high end machine controls have gone to a touch screen monitor. Is it possible to have the wireless mpg display distance to go?

To answer you question, NO, not that I am aware of. Wireless pendant only shows current position.
