Glass Scales and motors disabled (Axis Free) *ANSWERED*

Post by tblough »

If I have glass scales and have purchased the scale feedback for positioning option, what "position" is displayed on the DRO's after executing the "Free Axes" one-shot to operate the mill in manual mode? In other words, when motor power is off is it the motor encoder position, or the glass scale position that is displayed on the DRO?

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

When the axes are in a "free" state, the DRO follows the linear scales.
When requesting support, please ALWAYS post a current report. Find out how to take a report from your Acorn, CNC11 or CNC10 system here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ecvg0VJp1oQ.

If your question is PLC, Macro or program related, please also post a copy of the program or macro as well.

Without the above information we may not be able to help and/or reply until the required information is posted..

when using scales..by definition the scales are used for positioning the machine.
and the encoder on the motor is used for the PID loop to control the motor.
