As I travel 6 inches the DRO reads 11.9955
You need to double your revs/inch value, so that the control expects to need twice as many motor turns to go a given distance.

Yeah, I'm probably nitpicking at this machine to try to get it down to +-1/10,000 of an inch. Lol.

Still not getting close enough. I'm plugging in micro numbers and now getting 6.6647 per 6.0000 inches. Any more ideas on hoe to get the adjustment right?

0.6647" off a 6" move is still quite the distance away. What are your current steps/rev and rev/inch values? The general formula for dialing in revs/inch is: commanded / distance moved = multiplier. Then multiplier * current revs/inch = new revs/inch.

So I went back and listened to his video again and again. I got the formula figured out, wrote it down and now the X is 5.9999 over 6 inches and the Y is 3.0003 over 3 inches.
I don't think I can ask for more out of this little setup. Next...the dreaded Z axis.
I needed this victory!

Food for thought, Centroid provides a tech bulletin on how to properly set up your turns ratio that is current and updated as of February of 2024. You are watching a video that is 6 years old and not really that relevant to today's software or apparently easy to follow. All that was needed was a search of the Centroid Tech bulletins and it would have turned up this document for you to follow but glad you got it working.

https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... ds/36.pdf

You also have communication errors in your system, lots of them. Another tech bulletin to look at is TB270 to help fix those issues.

Hey folks.

I got my backlash corrected on my X axis. Doing my Y axis now.

I have about 0.010 preload on my dial indicator. When I move my Y axis every 0.020 the dial indicator does not move then jumps and I hear a "click" type of noise. When I travel 0.100 total the dial indicator reads total distance of 0.600.

Could there be debris/shavings in the leadscrew from the install?
