My Wizard fails to launch! (resolved)

Post by RGSparber »

Although the file is there, Wizard fails to launch. CNC12 runs fine. What do you suggest? << reinstall software>>

That's an odd one. Never happened to any of the Beta team that I know about.
Centroid support might want to look at that one.

Sans that, run a report, I like to make 2 copies one on the computer and one off on a USB drive. Then reinstall the software, (your settings should be saved) but before you go that route, let's wait to see what Centroid wants to do. They may want to take a look at that one. (Run the reports in any case)

I've also had that happen to me figure it must have been on my end reloaded the software and everything was fine and is still as of today.

I reinstalled all Centroid programs and Wizard would not run. Then I deleted the Wizard application, did an install again and verified Wizard was replaced. Still won't launch. I have attached the report.zip because Keith may want to look at it.

CNC12 runs fine.

Very odd.
Rick, did you install any other software on that computer? Can you recall anything you were doing or did that might have affected this? Or was it all working, you wanted to make a change and now its not working?

No software or Windows updates run?

When you say the wizard would not run did it give an error code? Or did it you just double-click and it did nothing? Have you tried restarting the computer since then? Is this the first time on a clean install or was a previous version of CNC12 installed?

I was running CNC12, wired up some home switches and wanted to provision Acorn. No fored quit of CNC12 or the PC.

I renamed the Wizard resources with OLD and did another install. A new file was created but wiz still won't launch.

For me the wizard would not show any errors just not launching but cnc12 would just wanted to do some changes in the wizard, as for any other software only tuning software for my DMM servo's. So far now it is working just though I would chime in to let RGSparber he's not alone we'll see what happens here.

Rick, I would hold off a little bit trying to do anymore. In your situation, support might want to remote in and look at your system.
I trust it is internet accessible and you have Teamviewer installed? If not you might download it (free) so they can remote in. Of course they work with you directly on arranging a time to do so....

Download TV here. https://www.teamviewer.us/?pid=google.t ... ote-access

and email support@centroidcnc.com the User ID and Password so they can remote in and take a look and let us know whats going on.
