Curious error msg for WMPG

Post by kb58 »

Started up CNC12 v5.06 like always but got a surprise, see pic.

Acknowledged the message and continued booting up CNC12, only to find that the WMPG interface was partly disabled. It could receive data but could not command router position. Powering down CNC12 and power it back on fixed the issue and the message has not appeared again. It seems like a bug to disable the WMPG in some way if the WMPG isn't powered up before CNC12. Anyone else have this happen?

no bug. wmpg has been working well for years now.

its always a PC usb port issue. use a different port and reboot the PC

I had the same message two days ago. I did the usual of unplugging and plugging back in the USB antennae. That didn't fix it so I restarted CNC12 and then all was OK. It has not happened again. No updates of OS or any other software. The computer is not connected to the internet.

That is the first time that has happened to me in two years at least.

The WMPG does not need to be powered up first before CNC12. I only power mine up when I need to use it after cnc12 is already running and I even turn it off and on during the day and it always connects. Check the USB port you have it plugged in to and/or try another port. It’s certainly not a bug.

I do the same, powering CNC12 up without the WMPG, and turning it on and off throughout the day as needed. Never been a problem until this last time.

Check the USB ports parameters and settings like Gary mentioned. Is the computer connected to the internet? Have you recently done any Windows updates? Is this a PC or laptop?
