Made a little more progress...

I wanted a nice way for my Encoder and servo power supply cables to feed through my electrical cabinet so I designed this panel in Fusion360, machined it out of .625 aluminum sheet, powder coated it, put it back in the mill and did the engraving.

I"m really happy with the way it turned out.

Yup Speakon! I love them. This is my first time using them and definitely won't be the last. Apparently they make a whole array of connectors and sockets as I'm learning. They are really high quality.

I've been learning so many thing about cnc controls, software, programming,g-code as well as the hardware used. Some might say converting a manual machine is a losing proposition. Now that I'm 3/4's the way through I must say I'm glad I took on this project. The knowledge I've gained in doing this coversion is worth the price of admission alone.

The only thing I need now is more Time In The Seat.

Sure!
There are two g-code programms in the compressed file.

The machining and the engraving.

I do edit the Centroid Post from Fusion 360 so that after every tool change (M6) I add X-2 Y0. just a comfortable place to do the tool change manually for me.

I also edit this line at the end of the program so the Table goes to the same comfortable position at the end instead of home.

N28080 G90 X-2. Y0.

The program calls out tool 24 for the drilling operations which is a 1/8 drill in my tool library however, I just use a #34 drill bit instead at the same height offset as the 1/8 drill bit (just a sharpie mark on the drill bit)

There is also an extra tool change programmed in so I can screw the aluminum sheet to a piece of mdf I used as a spoil board/fixture after the 4 holes at each corner were drilled. I just use tape to temporally hold the aluminum to the mdf until those 4 holes are drilled
