Thanks Keith! I'm having fun doing the conversion. I can't wait until it's under Acorn power!

Anyway, I finished the computer build. So I went ahead and formatted the ssd drive and installed windows 10. I found this nice tutorial on installing Windows 10 on a brand new PC with no operating system on it. All you need is another PC with windows and you can create a boot image on a USB thumb drive.

And... Here is a tutorial on installing Windows 10 from the USB thumb drive just created

Awesome! Very nice late model machine you have. Keep posting pictures of your progress!
Do the Transtorque couplings work by fitting into the i.d. of the hub and then slip over the o.d. of the shaft, tighten it and it expands like a collet locking both together?

YUP that is exactly how they work.

Here is a picture of one.

Small update...

I am waiting on some supplies to get my Acorn hooked up. While I patiently wait, I started making some chip covers for my servo motor brackets.

Finished up the x axis tonight and went ahead and powder coated the covers.

Got the X and Y Limit and home switches mounted.

Since I didn't want to drill any holes into the machine, I utilized the mounting brackets for the dro to attach some brackets for the limit switches to.

I drew up the brackets in Fusion 360. I set up the Acorn controller for 2 axis with a manual Z, programmed them into Intercon and Machined them out.

I know the brackets are simple and nothing impressive; However, these are the very first parts I have ever designed and machined on a CNC Machine. (while bench testing too) Before this, I have never even touched a CNC machine. I am stoked to say the least. (I actually did a dance when i finished the part  )

Here are some pics. Please don't mind the wiring, I am not finished. I plan on encapsulating the wiring in tubing and properly routing/dressing them as needed.

Looking good! And the brackets are impressive! You've done well with no cnc experience and you are finding out how useful Intercon can be.

Thanks Marty!

I really like the Intercon software. I watched the Centroid CNC Control user training video which is fantastic for getting a head start with Centroid control and Intercon. Also, the help feature within Intercon is...... for lack of a better term, helpful :D.

Got a couple updates on my progress...

I had some scrap aluminum sheet laying around so I welded up and powder coated a simple chip cover for my Y Axis drive.
