Just a little update to my Bridgeport CNC conversion.

I decided to use the spindle encoder solution that Tom came up with in this thread. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1944

Of all the encoder solutions I've seen for a Bridgeport conversion I've seen, this is the most elegant solutions I've ever seen..

Ordering the encoder and read head was pretty straight forward although you have to contact RLS through their website to order the magnetic ring with the index pulse.

Here is a picture of where I am at so far. The encoder mount was machined from Tom's model. Programmed in fusion360 and machined on my Acorn powered Bridgeport.

Just waiting on some aluminum round bar to machine the magnetic radial ring mount.

Good to hear you are getting along. Looking forward to more build pictures and a video of the machine running!

Sorry for the late reply....

I am embarrassed to admit my rigid tapping project is still sitting here on my desk.

However I did manage to score an extra bearing retaining sleeve so I can machine it before taking my machine apart...
