If the jog dial lets us alter the feed and speed, that functionality is duplicated with 4 buttons.
Since the number of buttons are limited, Id rather have a few more macro buttons instead.
Currently I don't change feeds and speeds often, if I do, I'll modify the gcode for a permanent fix.
As a hobbyist I do a lot of things manually.
I do these things every time I run a job or start up the machine for the day.
- tram/square a slaved axis
- setting G54 Z touch plate macro
- manual G54 XY zero
There are probably a few other macros I haven't thought up yet.
However I might be totally missing the point of having the feeds and speeds adjusted by the jog dial and by buttons.
