Acorn cnc wiring
I am not too familiar with this. Have been able to power everything, bench test everything. Have everything installed in my box and powered. I am trying to figure out the stepper to acorn wiring. The acorn has the step1, dir 1, Ena 1, com etc. My steppers have
PUL+(+5V)
PUL-(PUL)
DIR+(+5V)
DIR-(DIR)
Just trying to figure the pin to pin connections here
2h microstep driver to acorn cnc p/n 14555

Re: Acorn cnc wiring
Do not use ENA if your driver don´t need it.
For DIR and PUL follow the schematic for stepper drives.

Re: Acorn cnc wiring
Just as the driver is labelled, PUL+/DIR+ must be supplied with 5V. Then PUL-/DIR- connect to step/direction respectively for each axis. Since these drives use 5V, you should use H6 DB25 to supply these signals: https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=2227

Re: Acorn cnc wiring
Ok, so do not worry about wiring direct to h2/h3 on the acorn circuit board. Go through the db25 connector? I really appreciate it

Re: Acorn cnc wiring
nope your drivers run better with the 5V logic from DB25. Get a breakout adaptor for easy wiring like this one

Re: Acorn cnc wiring
Correct, wire those drives to the DB25. I don't know where you are in the world but here's a DB25 breakout board on Amazon if you are in the US.
