Probe along X and or Y, to determine any Z variances. Etc.

Yes,
future idea is to add a auto probing cycle just for this purpose that would auto probe along any known good surface and then auto put the data in the comp table.

for now you can use MDI to move the probe into position, probe single edge, read/record the position off the DRO and hand enter the correction amount needed for that point in the table.

or write your own probing cycle. :-)
Awesome, this is going to be a very nice feature.

I would prefer to use dial indicators over probes, because this shows problems otherwise not visible.

Here is how it works for me:

Now after getting the collum straight again, adjusting the gibs ect. I have had less then 0.02mm deviation in 3D space. measuring the axes in 90 degrees to each other.
With new set screw compensation and VC,I got max 0.005mm deviation with all measurements I could do, also with using the KP3 probe in all directions.

IMHO that is very good for the cheap small machine. So, for me the compensations Centroid provides are very well working and bringing cheap shit to a new level

By the way I also tested runout of the KP3 after months of use, still under 0.005mm, perfect for me too.

Thanks to Centroid providing professional grade stuff for a DIY budget.
