Probe along X and or Y, to determine any Z variances. Etc.

Yes,
future idea is to add a auto probing cycle just for this purpose that would auto probe along any known good surface and then auto put the data in the comp table.
for now you can use MDI to move the probe into position, probe single edge, read/record the position off the DRO and hand enter the correction amount needed for that point in the table.
or write your own probing cycle.
