Sudden change in spindle speed?

Post by Eric V »

While running my mill I noticed a sudden change in spindle speed without changing any settings.
When I request max rpms, I am only getting 3.6 v at the H8 connector. I do not have the 0-5V
selected in the wizard, so I believe I should be seeing 10 V at the H8 connector. Report attached.

Disconnect the wiring from the H8 connector. Using MDI, enter M3 S3000 and press enter. Now using a multimeter, measure the voltage at H8. You should see 10V. If you do not, then you've changed your max spindle speed from 3000 as in your report, or something is wrong with the analog output on the Acorn and you will need to contact Centroid Customer Service.

If you do see 10V on H8, then something is wrong with your VFD.
Cheers,

Tom

With M3 S3000 I am seeing 3.4 V at H8. Time to contact customer service.
Thanks for your help!
