2000 line or better....

Im finding it hard to pin down the right encoder that isnt a chinese clone.

Could someone tell me if this is would be suitable

No, that is a push/pull.
You want a Line Driver/Differential Encoder A, /A, B, /B, Z, /Z, COM, +5VDC

Thanks Marty its confused me as it says I can be wired for Push-Pull, RS422 or open collector. but i see no Z now. only 2 channelin differential mode.

I think europe uses different naming, for example, search "Line driver" in RS, or farnell and it comes up with a semi conductior rather than any kind of rotary encoder.

Anyway Ive found Koyo TRDA-2E2500VD in Europe. so that will do
