How to stop weekly report(kind of solved, but I would still like to stop weekly reports)

Post by Ken Rychlik »

Does anyone know how to stop the automatic weekly report acorn does?

It is overwriting my custom home file when it does this and I would just like to turn it off. This was not happening with 4.82 by the way. I have a saved copy of the report to reload in case of a crash and I don't want the report happening anyway.

Thanks
Ken

Do you have "Custom Homing File" checked in the Wizard?

Yes I do, but I still don't understand how it can change anything without me running the wizard and asking for a change. I have it working fine and I don't want any automatic changes happening.
I just want to turn off the automatic weekly thing so I don't have to worry about it.

There shouldn't be any changes happening during the weekly report writing. Are you sure that is what is causing the issue? With thousands of machines writing those weekly reports, this is the first I've heard of this issue

It could be coincidence, but after the weekly report thing twice now my homing file was replaced by a canned version. I have them saved so I can drop it back in, but I have the machine for sale and this is a concern. I dug through all of the manuals and could not find a way to turn it off. When it ask for the manual squaring, I know it has been replaced again. I have another machine in the shop that I copied the report from to paste into this multicam and the other machine is doing fine. The one that is doing fine does not even have custom home file checked in the wizard and it does not do this.

I can go into the wizard and change rapid speeds without it changing the home file. Why the report changes is has me scratching my head as well.

Do both machines have exactly the same software versions?

5.04 and yes. So why can one be different you ask? I don't have an answer for the argument. One had to be changed to axis paring, so they are quite a bit different in the end. I just used a report to get most of my macro's loaded quicker.

I didn't ask. I just wanted to make sure you weren't doing a restore from one version to another, which won't work.

It was just a question that raised an obvious question to me. It didn't like doing a restore from one machine to another. Warnings about being on a different controller and it took a second try to get it in.
The report was on a board that was from 2019 and given to me. I am wondering if there is something different about a report from an older board.

More knowledge. Visiting with Scott on the beta side, I realized that my report saved did not save the custom homing file.
