I'm in the process of building a new system with Acorn, C86ACCP, and ClearPath servos. I've got everything hooked up on the bench and have started testing. I've followed this thread:
https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic. ... 0cb53951a4
I believe I have everything hooked up correctly. I'm using the clearpath supplied cables plugged into the molex connectors on the C86ACCP. The Y and Z axis seem to work and jog just fine. The X axis however turns in the plus direction regardless of whether I jog - or +.

Re: Problem with C86ACCP
Why not switch the x and y to see if it's in the motor side or the board side?

Re: Problem with C86ACCP
Tried that. Switched the cables to see if it was a cable and same problem. Then switched the motors. It's definitely something with either the Acorn or the C86. It's like the direction signal is "stuck" on that port of the C86.

Re: Problem with C86ACCP
I did a little more troubleshooting. If I remove the C86ACCP from the Acorn and measure the voltage of the direction pin for each axis on the Acorn I get .61 volts when I jog an axis in the + direction and .2 volts when I jog an axis in the negative direction. This is the case for x, y, and z.
If I resintall the C86ACCP and measure those same direction pins on the Acorn I get 4.2 volts when I jog in the negative direction and .75 volts when I jog in the positive direction on the y and z axis. On the x axis I'm seeing the same voltage as I did without the C86ACCP installed.
Bad C86 board?

Re: Problem with C86ACCP
Check your wiring to the servo 1 more time. I suspect you have a pair of pins swapped. Had the same problem when i fired up. Swore it was right. It wasnt

Re: Problem with C86ACCP
Did you ever resolve this? I am having the same issue on one of my Y servos (swapping cables/ports swaps the issue to the other Y). I ordered a new board (reluctantly), but would love to know if you were able to solve it another way (so I could get back to work sooner). I am 99.9% certain the connections are correct as it's been working fine for a month with this same wiring configuration.
Thanks!

Re: Problem with C86ACCP
Just in case anyone runs across this...I ordered a new board and learned that was not the issue. It was indeed a faulty extension cable that I was using inside the control enclosure to get to the outside. I thought I had ruled it out, but I must have made a mistake in my testing. Hope this helps someone.tmadrms wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 12:29 am Did you ever resolve this? I am having the same issue on one of my Y servos (swapping cables/ports swaps the issue to the other Y).
