CNC LATHE POST PROBLEMS

Post by cnctc »

I am making the program in fusion and when i turn compensation type to "in control" on the finishing pass everything looks fine in fusion simulation but when i go to my machine and simulate or do a dry run it adds a little inverted arc in the two corners. You can see what it is dong in the scree capture i attached. If i use compensation type "in computer" it works fine?

FYI my machine has a turret but it is a front mount instead of a rear mount. Also if i edit the code on the finish pass and change the G42 to a G41 on line N73 the program works properly but the dia. of the part is .120" too small on both diameters?

N80 X1.7381 Z0.2559
N81 G40 G0 X2.425

should work.

Make shure the nose Radius in Tool Setup is correct, seems to be lager than usual.

By the way, it is much faster to use Intercon Profile for parts like this than fusion.

With Intercon a program like this is made in less than a minute....

Uwe correction will fix the problem. The fish hooks, what we call them here at Centroid, ( your wording inverted arc) happens when cutter comp is turn on or off, in your case turn off and there is not enough travel in X or Z to allow for the nose radius to be compensated for to the next move. Most times the X needs to move the diameter value of the nose radius after cutter comp is turned on or or off. Z move would be equal to or greater then the nose radius.

Made the lead a little longer and it worked perfect! Dont know why I didnt think to do that?? Fyi the nose radius for that tool is .030. Thanks a bunch!!
