Centroid Customer Service regarding updating Acorn license. Summery they are great. I had a problem with my Begalboard and had to replace it. Pilot error nothing Centroid did. As advised by CS I bought a replacement and then did the un-bricking procedure as described by Marty sent them a report they then sent me a new license and all was up and running as expected. great service and support. I am on my 5th system and planinng on doing more

Well low and behold i successfully repaired the control and its back up running. I’ve done a lot of iron soldering over the years but this was a first smd. Had everything here and it cost me under $10 to fix. It’s not pretty I had one pcb tab pull up for whatever reason it was near the center. So the hot air worked good for the install and I went back in and repaired the one terminal and cleaned the other next to it as good as I could. Not an expert by any means but she is working solidly now all 3 axis fully functional. I didn’t have any wicking sticks here so i did leave the old solder on to and applied a light amount of liquid solder over the top. Only difficulty was setting the gate array on top of solder bumps and keeping it there while I heated it up.

Did you find the issue that caused the gate array to fry?

Yes, good question. What caused the damage?
Even if it was a mistake, people can learn from it.
