WOW! That is a real game changer for Centroid and the Acorn. It was quite a challenge to get all the functionality required on my system within the IO limitations of the base Acorn. I can't wait for this to be released and put it to work on my ATC which currently requires more IO than I have left over.

It's definitely worth taking your time to test and debug this before release but you can be certain there is an eager user base out here waiting for it. This will breath a whole load of extra life into the Acorn range!

thanks.. yes. we plan on having an open beta period as well. this will be a first for us..
so, after our testing with the beta test crew, we will publish a public beta here on the forum of what will become v4.20
this way we can make any final tweaks before releasing an official 4.20 version.

Being able to have up to three of these opens up a lot of possibilities. The router I am refitting has a remote PLC on the z-axis to handle I/O for the proximity switches and the tool changer. Now I will be able to replace the PLC with an Ether1616 and not have to extend all the wires back to the Acorn... Very, Very Cool!

I too am looking forward to the board. It is like waiting for Christmas morning to arrive when you where a child. I check every day couple times a day to see if it has been released.

More than double that, the PDF said up to three of the Ether1616 will be supported by Acorn. So that is 48, plus the 8 on the Acorn for a total of 56 inputs and 56 outputs!!!

I was searching Google looking for commercially available Din Rail mounts for the Acorn, and look what I found instead!
