Problem out of nowhere!
Hi All - Everything has been going great until the other day.
I'll try to be quick. Acorn Rev 3, CNC Mill Pro 4.12, Gecko 540.
I'm experiencing stuttering on certain moves that will/can get violent.
I've checked the wiring on the controller, tried multiple gcodes, used known working gcode.
I am not sure if this is the computer, the controller, the driver.

Re: Problem out of nowhere!
Same here- just started recently. I notice it in a circular tool path when climb cutting at around 10-11 o'clock, when I speed up the machine then I start to notice it a little at 5 o'clock as well. Checked my 'lash and it was the same as when everything was working well. I checked on here to see if anyone else was experiencing this.

Not enough info. Ease follow the post Keith referred you to.CNCMaryland wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 9:30 am Hi All - Everything has been going great until the other day.

Re: Problem out of nowhere!
For a specific, timely answers to any questions on this forum, please take a few minutes to supply us with the information we need to answer your questions.
Include the following with your questions and requests for Acorn technical support.
1.) Attach a current “report.zip” file. The report.zip file contains error message logs, change logs, cnc configuration settings and plc program information. The Acorn CNC controller can be configured in an unlimited number of ways. Without this report.zip file we have no idea how you have your particular Acorn system configured. So, without a Report.zip file asking a question without providing us with this information is asking us to guess at what is going on. Be advised without a Report.zip file, it drags out the time it takes to get to a resolution or no resolution or help at all! So, please take 25 seconds and create and attach a report.zip file to your forum posts and we will all be happier. If you don’t know what a report.zip file is, see this video here. viewtopic.php?f=60&t=943 and always post a Current report (not one from three weeks ago!)
2.) List of the components connected to the Acorn board.. what drives, motors, switches etc. are being used? INCLUDE attachments or links to the axis drive and vfd manuals! Attach the Acorn system schematic being followed (or the one you created yourself) that shows these connections. Add photos of these components and the Acorn board installation. Use any one of the free online photo album services and post a comprehensive set of photos documenting your project and include it with your question so we can see what you are doing. Include links or copies of the Spec Sheets, users manuals of the axis motor drives and spindle motor drive.
3.) Post a description and photos of the machine tool and all its cnc controlled accessories. Picture is worth a thousand words. Often best way is to use a online photo album service like Google Photos. upload large his resolution images to the Google Photos, create an Album, put all your photos in one album and click "share" and then "get link" and copy the link it generates and post in your thread, then any one with the link can view the photos. https://youtu.be/yffppUwzKIU
we suggest that all Acorn users create an online photo album using anyone of the many free photo services like Google photos. This allows all your machine/control photos to be in one location and provides a "history" of your machine/project, then you can easily post one link here in the forum and we can see all the photos or just the one you want to show us.. examples... Marty, Kai and I have been using google photo albums for this.. here is an example. https://photos.app.goo.gl/foisQ42QZEbmA4Nv1
4.) Post photos or screen shots made with the Windows “snipping tool” or a cell phone showing software messages or whatever you have a specific question about to show us exactly what you are seeing. here is a video showing how to do this. https://youtu.be/IfjjCiyAPCo
5.) Post the CNCPC specs, cpu, ram, hd, OS, Touch Screen used and description of any other method of operator control being used.

Re: Problem out of nowhere!
Okay, I'm going to hijack this thread since CNCMaryland is not responding.
I'v attached the report File; I have a G0704 conversion with DMM DYN2 drivers and 400wx2 DMM AC servos and 750wx1 DMM ac Servo on Z axis. Wired according to Centroid schematics.
Here is a video what started happening.
https://youtu.be/DBTjt6gP5M8
https://youtu.be/DBTjt6gP5M8
In a smaller circular pocket the stuttering is not as noticible but with a larger radius pocket it's much more noticible (go to 1:02). I have no problem with single point threadmilling, nice tight threads.
My Y backlash is high 0.002 but never gave me a problem before, x and z 'lash is less than that.

The fact that it appears to happen in the same place leaves me believing there is a problem with the code perhaps.DanielCA92563 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 11:03 pm Okay, I'm going to hijack this thread since CNCMaryland is not responding.

Something to look at. Its runs too well other than that particular area.
You should watch your display running G code to see if you can isolate roughly where it is occurring.
Have you tried cutting either air or soft material (like closed cell foam board) and see if the anomally repeats itself?

please post a copy of the offending G code program.
and a photo of the electrical cabinet wiring.

Re: Problem out of nowhere!
Good idea, I’ll cut air. I’m also going to try cutting the circular pockets using intercon (I usually use fusion 360)
Not random, 4 other circular pockets for a different project with same result - stuttered in the same are.
I’ll upload my wiring pic (although it’s a mess) and report back with above trials after I get out of work tonight.
Thanks guys!
