I am thinking of retrofitting a Yaskawa servo equipped mill to use a Centroid Acorn. I would like to use the index pulse (phase C pulse) of the drives for accurate homing of the axes to an index pulse.
I retrofitted a mill with DMM DYN4 drives and combining the signals works great and only uses one Acorn input.
Does anyone here have experience doing this on Yaskawa Sigma1, Sigma2 or Sigma5 drives? I'm sure it can be done with individual inputs, but can it be done with the output signals combined to use only one input on the Acorn?

Becareful using encoder signals to drive inputs. You probably need to make up special circuitry to drive an input, else you may damage the encoder.
I had to work with DMM on that one for DYN4. They modified it do drive an input.
You would have been better served using OAK for those drives.

You may want to use OAK.
With the right yaskawa's, you can do absolute position mode and so you don't need to do anything here (IIRC).
Even in "precision" position mode with all sots of servo drives, it already does use the index pulse to place the drive relative to the home switch.
