Received my new MPG today

Post by Roadstercycle »

Hi Guys,

Well got my hand held controller today from Centroid and set it up in wizard (CWP-4) and I get the read out but nothing works. No jog, none of the keys.
I tried to turn MPG on the screen but it won't go red in the corner. Any ideas? Tried rebooting both the Acorn and windows and no change. Feeling a bit lame at the moment.

Does the mpg have a Dro display and say centroid CNC at the top?

Be sure to rotate the selection knob on the left off the off position,
And be sure to rotate the selection knob on the right to an incremental selection x1 x10 or x100

Have you tried unplugging and re plugging the receiver and restarting CNC12? Sometimes you have to do this the very first time you use the wireless MPG. It will work normally afterwards.

So laying in bed last night I was trying to figure it out, I had the DRO display working but no control, rotary switch on X and jog at 100 so all that was good. I had started and restarted CNC12 a couple times, the computer too, then I thought maybe the computer could not handle all the usb inputs I had plugged in, vga to hdmi monitor adapter, wireless keyboard and the MPG antenna. I just happen to have a powered usb hub in stock so I tried that and it worked. So the powered usb hub seemed to be the answer or just a coincidence, either way it works so all is good on my street.

Thank you Acorn Josh and CNC Keith for the suggestions.
