Thanks all for the help!

Indeed the problem was with the PD052 setting. Default was a value of 1 when it should be a value of 3.

This is 1 problem solved for future guys who will use a huanyang vfd.

Cheers!

We're the setup I gave and connections I provided the same as you used? I will ask Centroid to update that drawing.

Sorry for just getting back now. Yes Marty the information you gave was indeed correct.

I will try to post a build log and help other people too with my notes.

Hello I just got my Huan Yang 2.2kw VFD, I have everything connected according to the schematics and the file shared by Marty but I get no movement from the controller.

I have the jumper on VI
Connected all the cables to the board accordingly I am using signals VB & VC right now since I have VA & VC and wasn't getting any movement either.
Also I have all the parameters on my vfd set accordingly to the Huanyang VFD Setup sheet

I changed the dirverOK signal to NO and I got a spindle fault error, but thats about it. (i Switch it back to NC)

Checking for the volstage on the 0-10VDC output I am only getting 0.7V

I have tested in manual mode and the vfd does turn the spindle.

Any ideas on what could be going on?

If you followed the drawing and parameters in this thread, should work.

Always post a report.
Please provide a screen shots of the Wizard I/O tab and Spindle tab. Need to make sure you have things set correctly there first.

Take a picture of your VFD terminals showing your wiring and how they are connected to Acorn.
Then we can make more suggestions.

Hello sorry here are some pictures, the report and an update.

I have checked the voltage on the acron 0-10V output and its working properly, set up spindle to 10K on the wizard then ran the spindle at 5K and got 5V so no issues there.

Also checked the signals from SpinFRW, SpinREV and VFD/Reset when spindle is idle all signals show 24V and when selecting SpinFWD voltage goes to 0V same with SpinREV the only signal that would not go off is the VFD/Reset which in the wizard is called SpindleBreakRelease as shwon the picture below

I have an update, got the VFD running, forward - reverse - start/stop are now working but im still no luck with the speed control.

What i did is on the controller i turned the spindle on and nothing so then I wnet on to the VFD and changed PD001 and PD002 to 0 then turned PD001 back to 1 and ledt PD002 on 0 and the VFD started running at 60Hrz (nominal frequency), now i can start stop forward and reverse the spindle. As soon as i switch PD002 to 1 everything stops working, i checked the 0-10V signal and is working properly but the VFD wont recognize that signal.

Still playing around with some parameters to see if I can get the speed control to work.

Any input would be appreciated.

Further update, while testing i found that the jumoer for the VI pin that came with the unit was broken, added a little bit of solder and now I have the VFD working with PD001 on 1 and PD002 on 1, but I still have one issue.

When I start the centroid software I set the spindle control to 100% which is 2000 RPM (Max RPM is 4000) when I check the voltage with the spindle Idle i get 5VDC when hit the start button the spindle starts but its really slow like 300RPM and when I measure the voltage on the Acron and the VFD it dropped to 1.7/2.0VDC it goes up & down but that is the range. When i stop the spindle and check for voltage I get the 5VDC i had before.

Any idea what could be causing that voltage drop?

Hi Final update got the VFD working 100% I guess the 0-10VDC ports did not like a 22 AWG cable and somehow where giving me voltage drop.(if anyone can explain the reason would be much appreciated)

Changed the cable to a 16AWG and problem solved.

Hope this helps anyone.
