Hello everyone,
I just bought a Bridgeport Series 1 CNC mill from an auction and i plan to do a rebuild with Acorn, Clearpath servos and a VFD + encoder for the spindle.
I started wondering that is there some way to toggle the servos "out of the way" if i want to use my machine as a manual mill (from it's own handwheels) occasionally? Like a macro button that would drop the hold torque to zero and the software would control only the spindle and relays and show axis positions as a DRO?
Macro to toggle servo hold torque?

There is no encoder feedback from axis motors to ACORN. So no, you can not use it as a DRO.
