A short video showing some cutting on the rotary axis. Still a work in progress as I am fine tuning the Vectric post processors (beta versions) to work with the Centroid Control Software (beta versions). There are good things on the horizon!

Re: The Acorn Router Project
Back in the shop and time to put this machine to work. A few pics of some .065 black anodized aluminum cut and engraved for an IO panel that attaches to a control box model that I sell. The small lettering is .080 high, and came out very crisp with a diamond drag bit. Control box shown is an older model with the same Phoenix connectors.

Re: The Acorn Router Project
Hey Gary, Great project!
I have the twin to your machine!
I've also found hand-drilled and tapped parts that are out of square. I am in the process of re-machining the Z mounting plates now.
I am upgrading my vacuum hold-down system from a shop-vac to a "real system." Ward at centralvacuummotor.com said that I only needed one of these for such a small machine.
I am starting the design of my plenum, should I consider multiple zones on a 600mm x 900mm machine, or will one big zone work? I usually cut either engraving plastic or hardwood boards that generally 1x8x35.
I figure you know a thing or two about vacuum systems.
Thanks
Clint

Re: The Acorn Router Project
Clint...
Unless you have frequent use of smaller parts, I would go with 1 zone.

Re: The Acorn Router Project
Very interested in this. is there a way to sub program the rotary to turn on continuous and then turn it off later in a program?

Re: The Acorn Router Project
I replied to your similar question in another thread. Can you explain what you are trying to do?
