Can you use Acorn with multi-core processors

Post by capteod »

I am wondering if the ACORN Controller can function with Multi-Core Processors. My question is due to having a I3 computer and wanting to use it instead of buying a new computer. I presently use Mach3 and found it works great with multi-core processors.

Check your single thread speed here: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html

There should be no reason multi-core won't work unless it isn't fast enough, or your computer doesn't meet the rest of the stated requirements on the Centroid CNC page here: http://www.centroidcnc.com/cnc_pc_perfo ... ments.html

yes multi core PC CPU is no problem, we run I3,I5 and I7 all the time.
just make sure one of those cores benchmarks around the minimum speed requirements.
