Look at my post on drive ready signals. You can use my approach for alarm signals as well. Take a look and see if you understand.

24 V / 2200 ohm = 0.011A
0.011 A * 24 V = 0.26 W

Use at least 1/4W resistors.
Actual current and wattage will be slightly lower due to LED voltage drop (which is not specified).

Many thanks Russ you post is very clear, did not see it before.

Will see if I can get one of those Optocouplers boards.

Wish I could use remaining Outputs for more applications.
