Keith count me in I even have dual axis machine sat around which I use just for testing purposes.
Only just ordered Acorn with intention of proto type Mill project but when it arrives I'll throw on this machine as it would be much more beneficial to me if Acorn worked good for router.

Will PM you my details if your interested.
Keith asked you PM him if interested.

I am just starting my DIY router CNC build, and stumbled across the Acorn controller. This thread has been very helpful in understanding the level of support. I just wanted to chime in with my intention to order the controller, now that I see independent homing of a dual Y-axis setup will be supported.

I would love to help with testing, but I think I may be a little too early in the build process. I anticipate I will not be ready for serious testing until the early March timeframe. That said, maybe I can help in the future.
Thanks!

With the cost of servos and drives being so inexpensive now I can not understand why anyone would use steppers.
Has anyone used these really inexpensive integrated servos? NEMA23 2Nm 283oz.in, $80 each plus $24/16 Shipping to the US.
A set of 3 servos for under $300.

@cbb1962 you may want to also check out https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Phase-57-NEM ... 061563368? I made them a offer of $58/each for 3 + the $40/each for shipping, and it was accepted. I thought that was a nice price for a closed loop 3 phase stepper with controller. I also like that I am getting both from the same manufacture. The same controller is used for there higher torque steppers. I have yet to put them in service, but they look nice, and come with an shielded extension cable for the encoders. LiCHURN does have a professional looking website, and I found them responsive to pre-sales Qs, but like I said have yet to get them running.

I think we'd all be interested to hear how you make out with them. (those of you trying the ebay import hybrid closed loop stepper/servos)

I am upgrading my Chinese Precision 6090; it currently it has a Mach3 controller and NEMA 23 steppers.

I'm really excited! I just ordered an Acorn Board and CNC 12 Pro. I also have three of the JMC iHSS57-36-20 integrated servos coming. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.

I can vouch for how well they work better still I can show you. These are the 3Nm 3 phase 1.2degree motors.

However, they are another drive that doesn't tolerate over voltage very well so make sure leave enough safety margin.

Thanks, Marty.

Was hoping I could replace the Cslabs/Mach3 on future builds with Acorn but looks like that's not going to happen for awhile. But I'll hang in there until it does.!

Edit: Actually just realsied I've got an Old Boxford Slant bed Lathe kicking around which could put Acorn on.! . . . Erm as if aint got enough to do. . .Lol
