I have read every word of every thread on this Acorn page. To me and to others it might be a big help if there was a list of terms and definitions.
For instance terms like:
sourcing
sinking
open collector
opto isolator
and on and on and on, etc.,etc.
It just seems there is some confusion regarding terms to some of us newbie's!
For instance when someone refers to a drive and inter-changes the term amp. Just sayin!

Re: Glossary of terms for CNC
I’ll second that! Someone needs to write an electronics and wiring for dummies.

Re: Glossary of terms for CNC
There are at least a dozen online sites that explain electronics terminology and how each type of component works. Try the Google machine, if that doesn't get your answer, I am sure that WIKI will.

Re: Glossary of terms for CNC
Common being one of the aforementioned words. It's negative not common! Or even neutral in some terms
