You're in manual spindle mode. Put it in auto, use the arrow keys to select SpinFwd output and then use MSI to command M3 s500 press cycle start and post screen shot.

Frijoli,
Please open the Wizard
Go to Tab 3
What is the minimun spindle speed set to?
I believe when in MANUAL mode this is what it starts at.....

Let us know please.
Marty

What are you trying to do exactly, just command an output?
Use the wizard, program output 2 SPINREV
Write configuration
Start CNC12
Go to MDI
enter an M4 s500, press cycle start (ALT-S)
you should hear relay 2 click. Put a meter in continuity or ohms mode and measure the continuity across the contacts.
enter M5, press cycle start (ALT-S) it should open.

Hope this helps...

I'm trying not to get hurt. lol
Lets back up. I have the Acorn on the bench with "nothing" connected to any outputs. When I power up CNC12 my spindle speed shows 1000RPM and I have power on the analog out.
Is it safe to connect a spindle drive? I am really concerned about this.
I also cannot turn off the spindle RPM in manual at all even with the program saying it's in ESTOP condition. I really want to know why it shows that the spindle is running, and why I can't turn it off.
Again, when I push the "auto" button the spindle shows 0rpm and the voltage is gone from the analog out.

Minimum speed is set to zero.
Frijoli,
I went out to my benchtest rig. I set 0 for minimum speed and I set 1000 for max spindle speed. Wrote that configuration to Acorn

I restarted ACORN
I started CNC12
I set spindle from AUTO to Manual
I pressed the green spindle start button, it defaults to the low speed until I hit 100% and then it jumped up to 500. I measured the analog voltage and got 5VDC as it should, As long as Acorn is powered up it stays at this speed. You can hit the - speed button and it should drop down to 0
