CNC12 unresponsive and ethernet communication error (check firewall)

Okay, as expected, it looks like the allowed programs was not the solution. It seemed like it might have been the cure with promising results in the beginning, but not so. I can "force" an ethernet communication error by simply unplugging the ethernet cable, but CNC12 will recover normally after plugging it back in and cycling the reset button. So, it seems to me for some unexplained reason, CNC12 will randomly lock up and be totally unresponsive, requiring a forced restart (meaning powering it off) of the PC. There are no error messages when it happens. I don't think it's really an issue with the ethernet connection or with interference in the wiring. No idea where to go next, aside from long term testing on the old laptop.

Have you stripped the board down to the bare essentials? Or at least removed the 5v common from the 24v common while the Acorn boots?

I did test it in bench test mode, wired per the Centroid diagram with just the power supply connected. It seemed to be fine. I then started adding all the other stuff.

I didn’t quite understand your earlier post. The Acorn will always power up fine and CNC12 will start up fine. It’s after a period of time where I would sometimes get the ethernet communication error, or most of the time CNC12 (and the entire PC) will lock up. Should I wire it up per your diagram and try that?

Otherwise, I don’t see how I can be the only unlucky one to have a Windows 10 PC that is uncooperative.

Yes, it does. What I don’t understand (well, there’s a lot of things I don’t understand) is why it only locks up running CNC12. There isn’t much installed on this PC as I built it specifically for the Acorn. I can leave G-wizard (that and Rewasd are the only other programs I installed) running all day and it continues to work.

I disabled a CPU power saving feature in the BIOS with hope that that would help. No such luck. CNC12 has yet to lock up on me when I’m using it. So far, it only happens when I walk away from it...could be 5 minutes or 5 hours.

Sounds like some sleep function...You turned everything off like the Win 10 Video suggested?
When you come back is screen dark or do you have to wake it up?

Yes, followed the video completely. Screen is not dark when it freezes up.

Can you press CTRL+ALT+DEL to get to task manager? Then close CNC12 from task manager?

No, ctrl-alt-del does nothing...the PC is locked up completely. The laptop seems to be working, I tried it for about half the day and it works but the specs aren't that great so it wouldn't even display a graph of a part I was trying to create in Intercon.

That very much sounds like PC issue, not CNC12.
You need to run diagnostics on the PC in an endless loop. You have a functioning CPU fan?
It could be CPU, memory or a component on the motherboard. Did you build this PC from scratch with new components or buy it brand new and already to go?
Sounds like a marginal PC component to me.
