We've just got to be a little more patient on the MPG development from Centroid, but that Joytokey certainly works and opens up some possibilities.....

I have a friend with a commercial laser engraver. He made this heavy duty decal for me. He's willing to make more at $7.50ea mailed in the US.
Sans the "Marty's CNC Garage"

They work on the simple gamepad you can buy on Amazon, I think they are two for about $15

Its very basic but serves most of the functions.

If we get 10-20 that want one, he'll move forward. Please note, you need to use care sticking them on. They'll come off but the decal is ruined at that point.

He also does custom laser engraving work...he's disabled and works out of his home. His laser engraver/cutter is a Universal Machine. Not chinese junk.

The axis directions are straight forward. On/Off is like pressing Alt-J on a keyboard to bring up the jog screen. Start is just that, its like pressing cycle start.
The 2 buttons on the top of the game pad cycle the increment rate (X1,X10,X100) back and forth.
S/F+ Slow and Fast jog rate
I/C=Incremental and Continuous jog

Is it a USB Game pad?
If so, might as well load the program listed at the very beginning of this thread and see if it responds. All you are doing is turning the gamepad into a keyboard emulator. You program the buttons.

Here's what I ended up doing with the kit I mentioned in a previous post. Eventually, I'll paint and engrave everything, but for the time being, I'm happy with it. I pretty much have all the functions in need. Hopefully others will find this useful.

Yup! :D Joytokey worked great with it. It's powered through usb as well, so no need for an external power source, and if you wanted to, all the buttons, and the joysticks are micro switches, so I'm sure someone with more knowledge on electronics could get one of these, and use the board to make a pretty nice control. Unfortunately, I'm pretty limited on my knowledge of electronics. I just know enough to get by :)

Hey, as long as you are enjoying yourself, that's all that matters.
