Limit Switch Bypass

Is there a way to bypass the limit switches?

I was testing the Isel router's movement and accidentally triggered the Y+ axis limit switch and the only way I could get it off the switch was to jumper the switches wiring in the control panel. With the X+, Y+, and Z- limit switches in series with the E-Stop the Acorn thinks the E-Stop is pushed and I know of no way to bypass that signal except for the way I did.

Would wiring them to IN4, 5, and 6 be a better solution and setting, for example the Y+ limit, as "SecondAxisPlusLimitOK" ?

If the inputs are available then yes it's better to wire them into the free inputs ..that way the limit override button on the VCP will allow jogging off the limit.

Wiring limits into the estop circuit is only a technique used to save inputs and when you do that ...you typically wire in a momentary switch that will bypass the limits which will allow you to press that momentary button and Jog off the tripped limit switch.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for confirming that this will work - Wiring and wizard changes will be made this evening.

Keith,

After giving this more thought, a momentary push button makes more sense so I'm going to install one so I don't loose 3 inputs.
Thanks for that suggestion.
