OK Acorn DIY Experts,
Anyone up for converting this ole dog to CNC? Who wants to earn the 2018 Master Acorn CNC Conversion Award?
Just needs some lube.

Challenge Accepted. Ship it on up and I'll start right away.
August of 2013 I went to look at this:
A 1943 Springfield 16" gear-head lathe, that had been left outside in the
Alaskan weather long enough for the blue tarp to have partially rotted away.
By January of '16, I had this:
It's still not 100% done, but it's close. And, of course, once the chassis is back into good shape, the conversion to CNC would be basically the same as my
Logan CNC conversion.
That Southbend would be even easier to repair, since SB parts can be had cheap and by the bucketful. I had to make a lot of Springfield parts from scratch because replacements are completely nonexistent, and I've
never seen anyone part one out.
