Motors too hot - Resolved
Posted: Tue Nov 28, 2017 4:58 am
Hi guys, I'm converting a small lathe to CNC so I can turn projectiles for my .44 PCP pistol and while I wait for power supply for the steppers etc I am getting used to CNC12 a bit using the bench mode. Using an Acorn which is looking to be pretty good.
When I have the controller in MM mode I'm getting a '412 Motor(s) too hot: job cancelled' message when I run a job. I have nae any motors/steppers hooked up to even get hot, and there doesn't seem to be a thermistor input anywhere anywho.
When running set with inch units it works fine and I can run either the mm or inch files and they run through fine.
Running on an all in one touch screen pc, works pretty well but could do with an SSD.
Had a bit of a look around on here, used the search function, googled to the max and have come up with nothing. Can't even find a list of error codes for the software. Now I resort to posting here.
If it comes up with this when things are actually hooked up and I am forced to run imperially, I won't be greatly amused lol. Anyone else had this issue? Am I missing something pretty basic on the setup pages?
Cheers,
Sam

That is an issue with the Wizards metric conversion of the temperature modeling file.
To correct this, please exit the Acorn software(CNC12)
For lathe delete c:\cnct\cnc.tem
For mill delete c:\cncm\cnc.tem
This will be fixed in next release.
