It appears doable.
You have 4 stepper drivers, you need to decipher the chinese marks on the terminals to determint which is step and direction.
The board with the capacitors appears to be a DC spindle drive.
Can you vary the speed of the spindle drive?
You can probably do some detective work with a meter and figure things out.
Do you have basic electronic/electrical skills?

Yes I can wire almost everything , was going to order a new power supply, new cables since none are shielded. (That seems to be the main problem a lot of people talk about. Get a gecko 540 board. and get a true VFD. Then I think it would be an easy changeover and add hard limit switches to it also.
the side plat between the two towers on the X axis seem flimsy, so I removed the 1/16 tin plated and replaced it with 1/2" 6016 plate.
I have a CNC Shark Pro which is all plastic and it does cut wood really good, for being all plastic. I never tried aluminum on it. It did come with the full version of V-carve pro from Aspire. Which is real easy to use.

Just looking on the V-carve Pro it gives me 3 Centroid posts. wondering which would you use with the Acorn.

The G540 is a great choice. Sounds like you have a plan.
