Can't change from Slow Jog to Fast Jog - Solved

Post by Fredsan »

Yes motors turning :) but have a strange issue. Somehow I cannot switch anymore from slow jog to fast jogging. It is stuck in slow mode. I must have done some wrong setting I have to further check. I did change the stepper resolution from 1600 to 2000 in software and on the drivers, this gives a more precise setup of the stock, but that should not be the issue.

Did you happen to change fast jog rate to slow jog rate in the Wizard?
You are clicking the tortoise and hare button?
Go check your settings in the Wizard.

I have changed the fast and slow jog settings, and I am clicking the tortoise and hare button.

My settings:
Metric (mm)
Steps /revolution = 2000
Overall Turns ratio = 5
Fast Jog = 1000
Slow Jog = 200
Max rate = 1200

What values did you use in the Leadshine software for pulses per rev and encoder resolution? Is that all set up and then entered into the Wizard?

I have set the microstep value (2000) on the drivers using the dipswitches, the ball srew has 5mm pitch, no other setup.

The distance the table is moving seems correct.

When using the jog keys max speed is 200mm, when I do a G0 X0 Y0 speed reaches 1200mm. Somehow the slow/fast button stays on slow.

I have never seen that problem. The tortise led is toggling on and off when you press it?
Triple check the Wizard screen? Max fast and slow settings? How about posting a screen shot?
Centroid is going to want to see your report file. Generate and post it.

Looks good. Definitely a stumper as to why the button doesn't work yet when you call a G0 it works fine....time for big guns...
I'm interested to learn what it is.

can't change Fast and Slow Jog..

here is a test to do..

what happens when you turn on keyboard jogging with <Alt J> and then press <Ctrl F> to switch between Fast and Slow Jog? does it switch between fast and slow? does the VCP virtual LED change state when pressing < Ctrl F> ?

jog axis at 100% feedrate what is the displayed Feedrate? press <alt j> to turn on keyboard jogging, press <ctry F> to toggle fast/slow jog mode and then jog same axis again.. what is the displayed feed rate?

I press <alt J> and then <CTRL F> toggle state does not change.

Jog axis at 100% feedrate, displayed feed rate = 200 (= slow feed jog speed)

Changing fast jog to be the same as Max rate, does not solve the problem.

When I change the settings in the wizard to Benchtest, I CAN toggle slow/fast jogging mode.

When I change the wizard back to Leadshine, I cannot toggle between slow/fast.
