It might be better to import the .jpg image of Acorn and start from scratch. Let us know how you make out. You might kick me behind into relearning Visio.

What do you think about SchemeIt from DigiKey?

https://www.digikey.com/schemeit/project/

It's free and it seems to work pretty good.

I use Festo Diadectic(sp ?) I can do all my hydraulic circuit drawing and simulations plus all the wiring diagrams for all the control circuits and control cabinets. I can import .jpegs of actual control modules, etc. It has many photos included plus the symbols of course.

But it isn't cheap!

I have been using Proficad recently - seems pretty easy to use and produces clear schematics.

You can easily build up a selection of your own custom symbols. Just drag and drop connections between the symbols to make your circuits.

Free to home users - even better! www.proficad.com

I tried to attach my acorn symbol but the forum does not like the file extension. PM me if you want a copy and I can mail it to you.

No connection with the company at all - just stumbled across it when I was looking for an easy way to draw schematics!

I’ve used a free program called TinyCAD to draw electrical schematics. It is straight forward and easy to use with a number symbol libraries which can be down loaded. I felt the learning curve wasn’t very steep. It was pretty easy to produce drawings quickly.

I haven't used it yet, but this just came to my attention:

https://qelectrotech.org/index.html

From the photos on the gallery page of their website, it looks like it does a pretty good job. It's open source and free, so the price is right and it runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac.

I'll have some drawing I need to do during my current servo upgrade. What's everyone using?

Give this a try. It's a circuit designer and simulator. You can apply voltage and signals and watch what it does. https://www.circuitlab.com/ I used a version of it back when it was published on floppy disc. :D
