Monitor mounts
Can anyone recommend a monitor stand that's available for a reasonable price...say under $50? I'd like something that can be moved around as I plan to attach it to the back top side of my homemade mill enclosure. Would be nice to be able to pull it forward so it's easier to reach. There are a ton of these types of mounts available on Amazon and eBay but seems like the reviews are all over the map on most of them.

You will have to most likely fabricate your own.ScotY wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 11:56 pm Can anyone recommend a monitor stand that's available for a reasonable price...say under $50? Search VESA MOUNT ADAPTER on ebay. I have purchased this one in the past and mounted it to an arm off the top of my mill.
They are quite sturdy. Just an idea. I drill the holes out and use a countersink to ream them flush then bolt them to the back of the monitor. Use the base and a piece of round delrin to pivot it to whatever you want. An Intel NUC or Lenovo M92p tiny in its mounting chassis could be secured to it I would think as well.

Re: Monitor mounts
I have been looking at the Vivo dual monitor stand. They're sold everywhere for around $30-40. I could strap the tube to the back wall of my enclosure. Anyone try one?

Re: Monitor mounts
I'll have to try adjusting my search. That bracket might be able to be used somehow. I have no arm on my mill or anything like that to attach to so I really need the whole stand.

Re: Monitor mounts
I got one of these a couple of years ago and it works fine and is cheap.

Re: Monitor mounts
Thanks for the reminder...I actually have one of those that I had forgotten all about! I'll have to ghetto fab something up to attach it to the mill but it should work fine. Saved me a few $$$.

Re: Monitor mounts
*switching lights on and removing cobwebs*
Hey guys, I want to mount my 24" All-in-one-PC with touchscreen (ca 9,5kg, 21 pounds) directly to the machine (Emcoturn 120).
Does anyone have a touchscreen or AIO running that is supported by a monitor arm or wall mount?
Are there such things with an easy "lock" for the position? Or will ich have to build such a thing myself?
Would be nice to be able to move it around, but also being able to lock it in place because I will be tapping on the screen a lot.
And at what height do you use yours when standing directly in front of it?
I don't have enough experience with a good "working height" for touch-displays yet.
I searched the forum, but besides this thread most users just talk about a "monitor arm", but not what kind of it, what height and so on.
Maybe there are some more detailed experiences that you could share with me?
Thank you,
Marc

Re: Monitor mounts
No need to lock the AIO in place as long as you are tapping, not punching.
Thinkcentres have no VESA mount.
I would build one with space for a full size keyboard and to move the mouse and optional even bigger for a laptop to tune servos, read manuals or use CAD besides the CNC.

Re: Monitor mounts
Thank you for the link, indeed easy to build. Maybe i have some matching square-pipe... we'll see. Maybe some kind of vibrations-absorber is not a bad idea.
