Im looking for some help with brake resistors please?

I've no experience with these at all and the chinese manual again does not seem to offer much info. I just need to know what to buy really size/type etc?

The motor is 2.2Kw 3phase uk so its 230/240 volt. Manual is included here for VFD.

Thanks and all the best everyone

My advice to you is email them with your exact model number and serial number. ASK them if your model supports external braking resistors and if so ask them for the wattage and resistance rating.

Why? See my video on the cheap Huan Yang VFD. Not only does the cheap HY VFD typically sold on eBay not support braking resistors, nor are they vector drives. HY DOES sell a vector drive with braking resistor functionality. It is their GT series.

So, email and ask them first.

Cheers marty, that poses another question. Should I be running it in vector drive?

If the feature of sensorless vector exists, then yes. It helps with low RPM torque. Very surprised if it actually supports that.

I would be surprised that is was supported even if it says so.

Page 24 of the manual does say it's there. Might try it later - see what happens :? Whats the worst that can happen?
Do you guys doubt because it's Chinese?
