Ping Test Failed (10.168.41.2)

Hello everyone,
I need a little help with my Acorn. Today, I was running a job when the machine just stopped halfway through the program. It's happened a few times in the past few days, but a reboot has fixed it. When it stops, CNC12 is unresponsive, and I have to close it and reboot the computer and Acorn. This setup has been working for me for almost nine months now, so it seems weird that it would be a setting. I've gone back through and run the bench test, and all my computer settings are correct. I also ran the Ping test, and this is where I got an issue. If I ping 10.168.41.1, I get no issues, but when I ping 10.168.41.2, I get a request timed out with 0 packets received. Can anyone help me figure this out?
Thank you,
Lee

Hi Lee, if I were a betting man I put money on com errors. Please post a current report from the machine as this is needed to see your machine configuration and error log. Please see this topic when asking for help and you should be running the latest version of CNC12 which is 5.08

I’m not sure how to add the report.zip file if I can’t connect to Acorn to create the file. I can’t check for com issues if I can’t connected to Acorn. The only thing I was able to check was the ping test.

My bad, you stated a reboot fixed it so I was thinking you were able to connect again. I'd try removing and inserting the ethernet cable a few times and try again to connect.

Is your PC connected to the internet? It shouldn't be as some windows updates can cause issues like this.

Do you have a heartbeat on the Acorn?

Who makes your ethernet adaptor card? Intel or another company?

Firewall turned off?

Have you read this?

10.168.41.2 is the board side (Acorn in this case). If it can't be reached you won't be able to get any further with software booting. Can you check and verify that the Acorn is powered up with a heartbeat?

Sorry ShawnM, I guess my original post wasn't completely clear. It did get to the point were I was unable to reconnect. I have gone back through and used the PC tuner, and worked through Tech Bulletin 270. I downloaded all windows updates and verified that the firewall is still off. I am getting the heartbeat light flashing, so I know it has power.
As for the ethernet driver, it is an Intel, and it is up to date.

I do have the Acorn powered up, and have the flashing heartbeat indicator. I also tried a second PC that is set up with CNC12, and got the same results. Does this mean there is something wrong with my Acorn board?

Also, I have tried a second shielded Ethernet cable from my other working Acron machine without luck.

The 2nd PC is for the other currently working Acorn (it is verified to otherwise work with a control)?

The reason I asked if the NIC was Intel as those cards have special settings that differ from most all other NIC cards. But since another PC wont connect then this is not that issue.

If you read #8 on page 5 of the tech bulletin it states If problems persist, try “100 Mbps Half Duplex”. and this is usually required for Intel ethernet cards. But again, if a completely different PC wont connect then you have other issues.
