Buying QueenAnt pro V2 Where to start?

Post by guitarist »

Current plan is buying this due to budgeting.
https://yuyongindustry.com/product/5075 ... e-queenbee

And converting the controller to Acorn or something from Centroid.

The starting options for the controller they provide are:
Offline DDCSV4.1
Offline DDCSV3.1
DSP-A11
MK4-Mach3
Offline DDCSV4.1 BOX
Offline DDCSV3.1 BOX
DSP-A11 BOX
MK4-Mach3 BOX

Does it make any sense to go with one or another If i'm swapping out the controller anyway?

Thanks

When I ordered mine, since I knew I was going Acorn, I just ordered the cheapest controller option in the list. If I did it again, I would buy just the mechanical kit. This is because the drivers that came with the kit were trash and completely useless. I ended up replacing them and the motors with Stepper Online parts. The only thing the kit gave me was some power supplies, cable and limit switches that I used. If I had sourced the power supplies myself, I would have gone with 48v instead of the 36v ones that come in the kit. Spindle and VFD also need to be sourced if you don't get the full kit, but those are readily available on Ali from any number of sellers.

Just depends how comfortable you are with sourcing the parts to complete.

TLDR: if you get the full kit, budget to replace some of the parts.
Thx
Ian

Thanks for replying appreciate the post.

I don't mind sourcing parts externally i just have no idea what i need or whats best case scenario.
What motors did you end up going with?
The queenant comes with two options are they both junk?

If i get the mechanical kit what am i missing that i need to source?
Just motors, VFD, Controler, spindle? Dustboot? don't i need contactors/relays and a bunch of other stuff as well?

Best,

I went with the Stepper Online 3Nm Nema 23 Closed Loop Steppers and CL57T drivers.

I had to source my own contactor, build my own panel, and so on. I wasn't fond of their all in one set up box. I wanted to go Acorn.

If you get the mechanical kit, then you need to source everything not included in it of course. VFD/Spindle/PSUs/cable/switches/Etc. Even if it comes with steppers and drivers, you may end up binning them.

The biggest issue with anything electrical from them, is the lack of documentation and support. That may have changed since I got mine a couple years ago. I got nothing. Found the VFD manual online and that was it.
Thx
