Working with Keith and Marty we have modified the spreadsheet that was found on the MACH forum so it would give you the info you need to enter into the Wizard's Axis Configuration page. I hope you find this helpful when setting up your Acorn.

Wow thanks Orin, that's perfect! Wish I would've had that a couple weeks ago. I finally came up with the correct number back then but hate to admit how long it took me to wrap my head around it. This will make it a no-brainer for everyone.

Re: Acorn Wizard Data Excel Spreadsheet
for the rotary gear reduction section. please add a calculator for a rotary table since they are often worm drives.. the spec on the rotary table is often is a reduction value. like 90:1 or 180:1 etc..
here is how you calculate overall turns ratio for a rotary axis...
for all rotary axes on a Centroid the "turns ratio" is in: "Revolutions per Degree".
rev/deg = how many rev's of the servo motor yields 1 degree of rotation on the rotary axis
here are some example calculations..
so if the c axis motor turns one revolution and the spindle turns one revolution then set the turns ratio to 1/360 = .0027777
if the c axis motor turns 2 revolutions to the spindles 1 revolution , set the turns ratio to 2/360 = .0055555
if the c axis motor turns 20 times to the spindles 1 revolution, set the turns ratio to 20/360 = .0555555
if the c axis motor turns 180 times to the spindles 1 revolution, set the turns ratio to 180/360 = .5

Re: Acorn Wizard Data Excel Spreadsheet
Since Acorn is going to have a number of router specific changes coming in the future, and with all due respect to Orin, Marty and Keith, I thought I would post a portion of my drive mechanics calculator here to assist those that may need calculations for rack and pinion and gear (belt) reduction units that are common on larger machines. If we need more, I have them.
Hopefully this is clear enough to use for most. General instructions are to enter your data into the dark blue cells.
For inch pitch lead screws (TPI) enter them as 1/16 for 16 threads per inch
Use the drop down box to select INCH or MM for the screw pitch.

Re: Acorn Wizard Data Excel Spreadsheet
Wow Gary - Now that's one heck of a helpful spreadsheet that sure will help a lot of folks trying to figure out how to setup their system.
Thanks for posting the spreadsheet.
