Linux?

Post by cryptonym »

Is all this push to the cloud for Microsoft windows going to break the system at some point? I've read more than once that MS wants Windows 12 to be cloud based. Any path onto Linux?

This is something that I have wondered about as well Cryptonym. I have always supposed that there will be some kind of workaround if what you suggest ever comes to pass.

Just for the fun of it, I have had it running on an Arch Linux installation using Wine, but didn't give it much of chance because it was an under powered laptop. You could also try running Win 10 in a virtual machine on Linux. As always, YMMV, and you should assume that you're on your own for support. We could start a sub support group. ;)

There's no reason we have to stop using Win 10 unhooked, unless Microsoft has a time bomb in there. That said, it is something I have been looking into though, not just for machine use, but for personal use also, as more an more intrusion and info gathering will be the norm along with cloud based subscriptions.
